Nature

The beauty of the alpine flowers that will most captivate you and of the animal life that will most amaze you all depends upon which end of the region you encounter. In the Soča Valley and Julian Alps, life and beauty abound.

Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden

This is first and only alpine botanical garden in Slovenia that is in a natural environment. The garden is filled with a rich mixture of alpine and karst plant life and is characterised by a  natural order of life, meaning that each flower blooms in its time, sometimes in places where the plants themselves choose to grow and where they feel best.
The Botanical Garden was founded in 1926 by Albert Bois de Chesne as the fulfilment of his dreams and desires. He named it after his wife, Julia. Since 1951, the garden has been protected as a natural monument.
